Kolkata, 27th May, 2015:

A Workshop o­n Yoga was organized at BNR Auditorium, S E Railway Headquarters, Garden Reach today (27/5/2015) as a part of Customer & Passenger Facilitation Fortnight, Rail Yatri/Upbhokta Pakhwada.

Sri Radhey Shyam, General Manager, South Eastern Railway inaugurated the Yoga Workshop which would be continued in different spells during the day. Sri D Kamilla, Addl. General Manager, S E Railway, Sri Manoj Pande, Chief Personnel Officer and other Principal Head of departments along with a large number of officers and staff SER Hedquarters attended the programme. Smt. Vinay Kumari Devi, President, S E Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation was also present at the Workshop.

GM/SER while inaugurating the workshop said that S E Railway has chalked out a lot of programmes like Passenger Interaction in running trains, Ticket Checking Drive, Cleanliness Drive, Safety Awareness Programme, Inspection of Passenger Amenities, Yoga and Ayurvedic Workshops are being organized all over Divisions and Headquarters of S E Railway during the Passenger and Customer Facilitation fortnight from 26th May to 9thJune, 2015. General Manager further stated that mindful exercising would prioritize a balance wellness and fitness. GM appealed to the house full of audiences of railway employees and officers to join Yoga practices which would enhance mind and body power, prevent stress and improve balance. Yoga practice encompasses motions that ostensibly mimic every day activities and improves our long power phenomenally. If we really wish vent out our day’s stress, we need to join Yoga. In the present scenario, railway employees, who work in different departments and units in strenuous situation, their work is mental rather than physical. Possibly Yoga and Meditation would be more important for them, GM added. Endurance comes from Yoga exercise and mental strength comes from relaxation exercise and meditation.

Yoga music with physical postures was staged by the aides of Dr. Dibyasundar Das which ennobled the peace of mind.
