SERWWO'S WELFARE ACTIVITIES FOR UPLIFTMENT OF THE WEAKER SECTION OF THE SOCIETY

Kolkata, 29th November, 2018

South Eastern Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (SERWWO) known as a charitable and philanthropic organisation always extends its helping hand to the weaker and downtrodden people of the society by undertaking various welfare programmes through out the year.

 

As a part of benevolent and welfare activities, South Eastern Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation has taken up the project of “DASTAK” initiated by Railway Women’s welfare Central Organisation, New Delhi with the unstinted support of Ministry of Railways in its four Divisional Units viz. Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur & Ranchi including Headquarters with a view to installation of Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine and to distribute the Sanitary Napkins free of cost to the needy Women who are dwelling in slums located nearby railway areas.

 

With the beginning of this noble project, “DASTAK” in the jurisdiction of S E Railway, Smt. Rashmi Rekha Mishra, President, SERWWO in presence of all members of SERWWO and railway officials handed over Sanitary Napkins free of cost to 65 women who are living in the slum areas located adjacent to S E Railway Headquarters at an impressive function organised by SERWWO at the railway colony, Garden Reach o­n 29.11.18. Smt Mishra while speaking o­n the occasion, urged all the members to join this noble project enthusiastically to make it a grand success for uplifting the women of weaker sections in the society.
