DISTRICT RALLY OF SER BHARAT SCOUTS AND

GUIDES  CONCLUDES

Kolkata, 31st March, 2017:

                The three-day 22ndDistrict Camp Rally of Central District Association of S.E.Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides concluded at BNR Ground, Santragachi , yesterday (30.03.17). Shri S. N. Agrawal, General Manager, South Eastern Railway and Patron, S.E.Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides was the Chief Guest at the Valedictory Function and witnessed the spectacular performances  staged by SER Bharat Scouts & Guides. Shri Anirban Datta, Addl.General Manager & President S.E.Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides along with other Senior officers were also present.

            Shri Agrawal, General Manager, S.E.Railway while speaking at the concluding ceremony mentioned about the efforts put in by Scouts and Guides throughout the year in  different social works in railway premises and yeomen services  during natural calamities. He spoke about the role of scouting in making of disciplined and self confident citizens. The spirit and courage of the scouts and guides contribute towards the overall development of the society. General Manager also mentioned about the role of Scouts and Guides in creating awareness among public against different social evils and also in maintaining cleanliness of stations and railway premises.

            About 500 Cubs, Bulbuls, Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers participated in the Rally. Competition between various groups was held for parade, drill, craft, folk dance, first-aid, quiz etc. A colourful  exhibition was displayed with so many things of daily life which attracted the visitors & spectators. ‘Santragachi South  Group’ has emerged as the Winner  while ‘Shalimar Babu Quarter Group’ has been declared as Runners up. Altogether eight groups participated in the meet. General Manager gave away prizes to the Winner and Runner’s Up groups. The programme was interesting and entertaining with a variety of cultural function.
