SER ORGANISED  FREIGHT CUSTOMER MEET AT HEADQUARTERS  TO DISSEMINATE DEVELOPMENTAL STEPS TAKEN IN FREIGHT POLICIES

Kolkata, July 20, 2016:

          A meeting with freight customers was held at South Eastern Railway Headquarters, Garden Reach o­n 19.07.2016(yesterday) to sensitize them about the new initiatives taken by the Ministry of Railways recently to help enhance freight loading, such as abolition of dual freight pricing of iron ore, re-introduction of short lead concessions, withdrawal of port congestion surcharges, and permitting Private Container Train Operators to handle parcel traffic. 

          Shri A.K.Goel, General Manager, South Eastern Railway chaired the meeting.  Shri Suchitto Kumar Das, Chief Operations Manager, Smt.Gauri Saxena, Chief Commercial Manager along with other traffic officers from South Eastern Railway attended the meeting from railway side while the representatives of Cement, Steel, Container and Iron Ore loading agencies attended the meeting and exchanged their views to make the meeting successful and succulent.

          The freight customers thanked the Railways for these new initiatives and expressed hope that these would help to increase freight loading substantially in the balance period of the current financial year.
